PENTAX Loupes

Keep your posture

Precision loupes built on deflection prism optics, so you work looking straight ahead instead of bent over the field. Fitted to you in the UK.

01 · Optics

Japanese optics, sharp to the edge

A clear, distortion-free image with a wide field of view and strong depth perception. The barrels flip up out of your sightline whenever you need normal vision.

02 · Magnification

Choose your magnification

2.5× 141 mm field of view

For those who favour field of view and depth of vision: general surgeons, urologists and hygienists.

Each pair is built to one fixed magnification. Your specialist will help you choose at a fitting.

*These are estimates, results per person may vary.

03 · Posture

Look straight ahead, not down

Deflection prisms redirect the optical path, much like working with a microscope. Your eyes stay level, helping you hold a natural, upright posture through long procedures.

04 · Fit

Adjusted to you, down to the millimetre

Pupillary distance, working distance, height and angle are all adjustable. They are set at your fitting and can be reset whenever your eyesight or setup changes.

How it works

Fitted in weeks, not months

Four steps from the first call to wearing them. Your measurements are taken on your own phone, so nothing waits on diaries, showrooms or travel.

  1. Speak to a loupes specialist

A short call about the work you do, the magnification that suits it and the way you sit or stand at work. No showroom visit and no obligation.

    Day one
  2. Take your measurements in the app

Working distance and pupillary distance, measured on your own phone in a few minutes, and a specialist checks them before anything is made.

Open the measure app Same day
  3. We build your pair

Your numbers go to the workshop and the loupes are made to them: magnification, working distance, pupillary distance, colour and lens options.

    Under 2 weeks
  4. Wear them

They arrive ready to use with your passport in the case. If anything needs adjusting after a week of real work, we put it right.

    Delivered
How long a custom pair usually takes

With us Same week to 2 weeks

Commonly elsewhere 3–6 months

Some pairs go out in the same week, and two weeks is the outside. That is the sort of wait you already plan around for lab work.

Technology

Why PENTAX

Four things the optical design does differently from conventional loupes.

01

Balance point

A lightweight frame with balanced weight distribution, so the loupes sit evenly and stay comfortable through long procedures rather than dragging on your nose.

02

A wide field of view

Japanese optics give a sharp, distortion-free image across a wide field, with the depth perception fine work needs. At 2.5× the field of view is 141 mm.

03

Parallel viewing

Conventional loupes converge your eyes toward a single close point. PENTAX Loupes are built for parallel viewing instead, designed to reduce eye convergence and help support an upright working posture.

04

Flip up, flip down

Flip the barrels out of the way to switch instantly between magnified and normal vision, without taking the frame off.

Fit

Built around you

Every measurement that matters is adjustable. Set once at your fitting, then revisited as your eyesight or working posture changes.

25–70 cm Working distance

Set to match your height, your chair and the way you sit or stand at work.

Adjustable Height & angle

Position the barrels for a natural line of sight, then lock them in.

52–78 mm Pupillary distance

Matched to your own eyes, not a factory average.

Optional Protective & prescription lenses

Prescription & lens options

Made for your eyes

Magnification is fixed and does not correct your everyday vision. There are three ways to pair PENTAX Loupes with your prescription.

Adjustable frame, no glasses

Many clinicians do not need separate glasses at all. The frame adjusts directly to your vision.

Your own glasses underneath

A different nose pad creates room to wear your existing glasses under the loupes.

Custom prescription insert

A clip-in insert carries your correction inside the PENTAX frame itself.

Magnification

Magnification range

Five fixed magnifications, each with its own field of view. Magnification is set when the loupes are built and does not change.

Illumination

Light exactly where you are looking

An optional LED headlight clips to the loupes and lights the field from your own line of sight, so the thing you are working on is lit rather than shadowed by your head and hands.

Wired

Constant power from a beltpack, for long lists where you would rather not think about charge at all.

Wireless

Nothing running down to your belt, so you can move between chairs and rooms without unclipping anything.

Already own a light

Brackets are available for other LED brands. Tell us which light you use and we will confirm whether it fits.

After your fitting

Every pair comes with a passport

A private page and a QR card in the case, holding your setup, your care guidance and a one-tap line to the UK team. It stays yours for as long as you wear them.

  1. Issued at your fitting

Magnification, working distance and pupillary distance are recorded as they are set.

  2. A card in the case

Scan it with any phone. No app, no account, no password.

  3. Open it whenever you need us

A quick check-in, a support request, or an invitation for a colleague to see for themselves.

Ownership, done properly

Why the passport matters

A precision instrument deserves better aftercare than a receipt in a drawer. The passport is how a PENTAX pair stays a PENTAX pair, for you and for whoever wears it next.

Sell on, the proper way

If you ever want to sell your loupes on, the passport is how it's done: the record is transferred to the new owner, who gets their own fitting and the same UK support, and the pair stays a genuine, traceable PENTAX. Sold without it, a pair is just a second-hand pair.

If a pair goes missing

Every passport ties one pair to one owner by reference, dated from the fitting. Report it lost or stolen and we flag that record, so it cannot quietly be transferred or passported to somebody else, and you keep dated proof of exactly what was yours for an insurer or the police. It will not tell you where the pair is, but it does show whose it is.

The manufacturer's warranty, protected

A passported pair is a genuine PENTAX pair supplied through the UK team and covered by the manufacturer's warranty. No grey imports, no guesswork about where it came from. That protects you, and it protects the name on the frame.

Reassurance if something's off

A slipping nose pad, a headlight question, a fitting that needs a tweak: one tap on your passport reaches a real person, with your setup already in front of them.

Your numbers, kept

Magnification, working distance and pupillary distance are recorded at your fitting, so re-fits, adjustments and accessories start from your numbers rather than from scratch.

Care guidance, always at hand

Cleaning, handling and storage guidance for your pair lives on your page, so the optics stay sharp for years and the adjustments made at your fitting stay put.

Something to show your insurer

Magnification, working distance, pupillary distance, colour, lens and lighting options, the fitting date and the reference, all on one page. No hunting back through email when a practice manager or an insurer asks what you actually own.

It follows you, not the practice

Change practice, go locum, or work across several sites and the passport comes with you. Your setup and your line to the UK team belong to you rather than to a building or an employer.

Nothing to install

No app, no account, no password. A card in the case and a link that is yours alone, for as long as you wear them.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Loupes are small magnifying optical instruments, typically worn as eyeglasses. They give a close-up view of fine detail that's difficult to see with the naked eye, and are widely used for precision work.

Dentists, prosthodontists and dental hygienists, surgeons, hair transplant specialists, permanent makeup artists, veterinary surgeons, and other professionals whose work requires enhanced close-up vision.

Through-the-lens (TTL) loupes are fixed and custom-fitted, with pupillary distance set at the factory. Front-lens-mounted loupes clip in front of separate eyeglasses. PENTAX Loupes are flip-up loupes: pupillary distance and working distance can be adjusted by the user, and the loupes can flip out of the way for regular vision.

No. Magnification is fixed at manufacture, giving a consistent, predictable level of magnification. Pupillary distance and working distance are user-adjustable, which matters because eyesight and working posture change over time.

2.5×, 3.0×, 3.5×, 4.0× and 5.0×, each with a different field of view. See the magnification range section above for the full comparison.

As a general guide: dentists commonly use 2.5×–3.5× (aesthetic dentists often use 5.0×); surgeons typically use 3.5×–5.0× or higher; veterinary surgeons typically use 2.5×–3.5×, depending on procedure and patient size. Individual preference and task complexity also play a part. Speak to a specialist for guidance specific to your work.

Yes. Optional LED lights are available in wired and wireless configurations, attaching to the loupes for additional illumination in low-light conditions. If you already own a compatible LED light, contact us; different brackets are available for different light brands.

There are three options. Many users don't need separate glasses at all, since the loupes are independently adjustable to your vision. Alternatively, the adjustable nose pad can be set to create room to wear your own glasses underneath. A third option is a custom prescription insert clip that fits the PENTAX frame directly, so no separate glasses are required.

Price depends on magnification level and options such as LED lighting or a prescription insert. Build your loupes above or request a demonstration, and our team will prepare a personalised quotation.

Trial availability depends on the specific retailer or distributor. Get in touch and we'll let you know what's possible for a demonstration or fitting.

Magnification, working distance, pupillary distance, frame colour and any lens options are all discussed as part of a fitting. Build your loupes above or request a demonstration and a specialist will guide you through the choices.

Yes. Both are user-adjustable on PENTAX Loupes, so the fit can be revisited as your eyesight or working posture changes, without returning the loupes to the factory.
